Buying a Pram Newborn

Prams and pushchairs are the multi-functional, multi-purpose allies of parents and caregivers. They are the co-pilots on the journey of your child.

A pram newborn is dedicated to infants and newborns. It comes with a the most solid, sturdy carrycot with soft and safe walls.

A pram will typically come with a bassinet. However, it can be converted to an infant stroller seat once baby is ready.

Safety

Newborns need to be secured as much as possible. Buying a stroller or triple pram equipped with safety features will ensure that your baby is comfortable and secure while traveling. A pram or stroller must have a working break and a five-point harness (2 shoulder straps with two waist straps and the crotch belt) and a wrist tether for the person pushing it. Make sure the pram you select is in compliance with these requirements.

Find a stroller that allows your baby to travel in the recommended position of lying flat. This position helps your baby and prevents a dangerous curve in their spine which could lead to spinal issues. It also lowers the chance of SUID (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome) or asphyxiation by keeping airways open. Most prams are able to be used from the moment of the time of birth.
