Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best way to improve your gear in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you improve it without having to depend on costly drops or trades. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. The bonus is depending on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in the form of item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment containing the components, or by utilizing high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrade components, upgrade components aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
